LET'S HAVE A BLAST!
Celebrate Redwood Falls invites you to come and have a blast on Lake Redwood on Saturday, February 7 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Fire & Ice Festival! Enjoy free activities and food for all ages! Bring your skates to enjoy the ice on a rink or follow the cleared trail upriver. Pick up your hot dog, s’mores kit and hot beverage and gather round one of the many bonfires. Get in on mini golf, broom ball, bean bag, Bobski racing (chairs on skis) and other games. Take a walk along the Tiki Torch Trail or jump in line at the Cornerstone Church sled rides to explore more of the Redwood River. For the big finale, we’re going to shake the lake again with a fireworks show at 8:00pm! No matter how you look at it, it’s a COOL way to spend your night!
Organizers hope to see everyone out on the ice enjoying the many activities and would like to thank all of our sponsors who make this event possible including Cornerstone Church, MN Valley Snow Riders Club, Northwest Drywall, and S&S Rental. If you haven't been to Fire & Ice before, here's a lay of the land. There's lots of parking around the playground area and softball field but as those fill up, there are 2 parking areas a little further out but within easy walking distance to the boat ramp. The crew at Cornerstone Church is bringing out the fun rides again this year for everyone to enjoy! They're also providing hot chocolate and popcorn from the scouts! We're looking for some hardy volunteers to help out on Saturday Feb 7 from 9am-12pm for setup, 8:15pm-9:30pm for teardown and to hand out free food (1 hour shifts) during the event 5pm-8pm. The fishing must be good on the lake this year as we've seen a lot of anglers out there! Just a heads up that we're requesting a vehicle-free window next weekend on Saturday from 4pm-9pm during Fire & Ice to keep attendees as safe as possible. We hope you can arrive earlier in the day to avoid this timeframe when we expect 600+ to attend. We'll be doing setup most of the day but will keep the ice road open so you can find your favorite fishing hole. You'll probably want to find a spot outside the fireworks fallout area to avoid potential damage to your tents and trailers. We appreciate your support and hope you catch the big one!!! It's been dang cold this week which is great for the ice but we're looking forward to milder temps in two weeks for Fire & Ice!
